My Story.
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. My family came to the US when I was 8. Before graduating high school, I had managed to attend 5 different high schools, lived in Germany for a year and inherited a sweet Fiero (the poor man's version of a Delorian) from my older brother. I was a military brat by proxy (cough, cough *child of divorce*).
I tried to be a good immigrant and go to college. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and got a job in Advertising (thanks Amanda Woodward from Melrose Place for the career path).
I was big pimpin' working for Cartoon Network before I told myself: "Hey! Remember how you wanted to be an artist? Why don't you say we go for broke!" And I did. Literally went broke. I quit my cushy job to attend the Maggie Flanigan Studio in NYC.
And because being broke didn't feel right until I was drowning in debt, I got my MFA in Drama from the University of Washington. Yay me! Now I live in LA but I still got my NY edge (cough, cough *I can play "urban"*)

"Anna LaMadrid plays naive Lizette in one of the funniest performances ever played on a theater stage
....LaMadrid's performance was a standout...plays her role perfectly as the sassy yet vulnerable Lizette and had the audience waiting for her next scene on stage again. " -Discover Hollywood Magazine (Fixed) |

LaMadrid's comic timing and delivery of double entendres energizing her scenes as Jamie...simply stunning” |
Lizette (the deliciously quirky LaMadrid once again proving herself one of the year’s brightest discoveries)..." |
Ultimately, however, it is LaMadrid as the loose-lipped Betty 3 who, bitten by the theater bug, keeps the laughs coming and steals the show.” |
The cast manages some wonderful and stirring moments. Lamadrid takes on his addicted girlfriend with glee and sinks her teeth into the role without ever going to a stereotype.” |
Anna Lamadrid (Carolina) is clearly part comedienne. Her naturally sweet if somewhat foggy Carolina reminds me of a slightly more fragile Billie Dawn (from Born Yesterday). Not that the role is played for laughs. LaMadrid offers us a real woman, one whose attributes are recognizable and familiar.” –Alix Cohen, womanaroundtown.com |
